Father’s Day at Peterson Creek Park

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

Well, Father’s Day weekend didn’t start off so great since mommy accidentally washed daddy’s cell phone in the washing machine. Unfortunately cell phones don’t work better after they’ve been taken through the “heavy duty” cycle on a front loader. So with a drenched cell phone in hand, daddy and Celeste headed off to the Telus booth in the Aberdeen Mall for an unplanned Father’s Day gift. Daddy was not too impressed with mommy!

Things got better though when we went for lunch to daddy’s favourite restaurant, Montana’s, and then when we made a pleasant discovering of a park we hadn’t been to before. Just under the Trans Canada Highway that runs through Kamloops is a hidden gem called Peterson Creek Park. The park is a bit of the wild outdoors in the middle of the city. It has trails, a creek, a water fall, and wild flowers everywhere.

Notice the pregnancy belly?! It’s much bigger than last time.

A Moment with Miss Egypt

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

Well, we have some sad news to share. Some of you may or may not be aware but in April we had to put Miss Egypt to sleep. She was very sick and even though we hated to do it we knew it was time to let her go. We were fortunate to have her company and affection for 18 years.

Celeste wasn’t really sure what was going on. She only knows that Egypt is “sleeping and is small and so cute”. Her words exactly. I thought I’d share a couple of Egypts last pictures playing “princess dress up” with Celeste. Poor Egypt… she was always the trooper.

Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you…
I loved you so ——
’twas Heaven here with you.

The Last Ballerina Class of the Season

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

On her way out to ballet class.

I can’t remember if she was doing her stretches or sulking. Most likely it was sulking.

Miss Amanda gives a helping hand with the tap shoes.

Getting a pep talk from daddy.

The scarf dance…

The little ballerina’s gather around their teacher, Miss Amanda, to say goodbye.

The Little Ballerina has Retired

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

Well, here is one of the last pictures of Celeste in her ballet gear. We decided that since she wasn’t interested in dancing while at school, we’d try swimming lessons instead. Maybe we’ll go back to dance next year.

New Fashion?!!!

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

Apparently daddy thought it would be fun to put a pair of Celeste’s underwear on her head. From her expression I would say she thought it was fun too!

The Little Tree Family Daycare Test Run

by admin on Jun.15, 2008, under The Blog

Here we are with friends Alyssa and James. My friend Denise was in need of some babysitting one day so we had a test run with her kids for my family daycare. Everything went smoothly, especially since her kids have such a great appetite. The only glitch we had was that Celeste wasn’t keen on sharing her Leapster. She’s only 3, so I guess we have lots of time to work on her sharing skills.
